Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
A career in mortgage and finance broking requires specialised knowledge, technical skills, and a commitment to professional excellence. To ensure brokers meet the highest industry standards, the MFAA recognises Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that offer nationally accredited courses tailored to the mortgage and finance industry.

Industry-recognised education requirements

To become an MFAA member, you must complete:

  • Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking (FNS40821) – The minimum entry requirement for joining the industry.
  • Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management (FNS50322) – The MFAA industry benchmark for professional excellence.

If you hold a Certificate IV, you must complete your Diploma within 12 months of joining the MFAA to renew your membership.

The following MFAA-recognised RTOs offer training programs that equip brokers with the essential knowledge and skills to deliver the highest standards of service, compliance, and customer care:

  • AAMC Training Group
  • Finance and Related Services Training Academy (FARSTA)
  • Institute of Strategic Management
  • Kaplan Professional
  • TAFE NSW
  • The National Finance Institute

Choosing an accredited course from an MFAA-recognised RTO ensures you receive up-to-date, industry-relevant training that aligns with evolving regulatory requirements and best practices.
