Award win increases confidence for broker’s clients

It was 2020 when South Australia based broker Sofie Chapman won two awards in the MFAA Excellence Awards, and she’s been seeing the benefits of being an award winner to her business since.

Sofie is a sole operator with offices in Adelaide and Sydney, and an assistant offshore.

“My business is focused on providing a holistic financial approach to various customer needs in residential, commercial, SME, investment and personal,” said Sofie.

She won both the Customer Service - Individual Award and Diversified Business Award in the South Australia MFAA Excellence Awards.

Sofie says she gets a lot of satisfaction helping people achieve their financial goals, whether it be a first home buyer, first time investor, property developer or a small business operator looking to expand.

“I love broking as it enables me to combine my two passions – property investing and finance. I enjoy helping my clients with their wide variety of needs,” she said.

For Sofie, being recognised in the MFAA Excellence Awards was a huge privilege.

“I was overwhelmed with joy and a deep sense of satisfaction that all my hard work was worthy of such high praise. Winning these awards meant my clients, referral partners and peers can see my work is validated and trustworthy.

“It means I can market my brand as a genuine award-winning business. This gives my clients and referral partners confidence in my advice and assurance they can refer their contacts to a highly reputable broker, “says Sofie.

In addition to the confidence it gives her clients of knowing they are working with an award-winning broker, Sofie said her awards have also given her credit with lenders which has assisted greatly with loan processes.

When asked what her advice for brokers wondering if they should make a submission for the MFAA Excellence Awards is, Sofie’s response was clear – “Go for it.”

“It’s actually a great way to assess yourself and where your business is at. The submission questions make you reflect over what you do well, what you can do better and what you have achieved.

“If you do make finalist, it’s such a huge sense of accomplishment. Our industry has many great brokers, I’d love to see many more recognised for their hard work and dedication,” she said.

Submissions for the 2022 MFAA Excellence Awards are now open – visit the Awards website for more information.
