Narinder Singh, Director of Indoz Finance Australia, is a mortgage broker in the Perth suburb of Balcatta and his business motto is ‘With You Every Step’. He came to broking because he was looking for a profession where he can help and connect with a diversity of people.
“Luckily, my profession allows me to help people in achieving their dream home which gives me immense satisfaction,
“Coming from an accounting background, I’ve always loved numbers and wanted to work independently where I am the decision maker for my business and have freedom to build my brand according to my personality and style,” he says.
As his business has grown, Narinder says he is getting more clients with unique needs and expectations.
In response to the challenges these client situations could bring, Narinder says he analyses as much client data as possible and establishes strong customer relationships.
He likes to be the prime person for communication with his clients on their queries or concerns.
“Keeping intact relationships and strong communication with my clients helps me to understand them in a better way, which in turn helps me to serve them better,” he says.
Narinder, who won the Young Professional Award at the Western Australia 2022 MFAA Excellence Awards, also likes to stick to his gameplan in the face of increasing competition.
“I personally try to keep my focus on my plans and strategies to keep hold of my clients regardless of what my competitors are doing. I try not to be part of the rat race and to keep my focus on how my business can do well and how it can continue to satisfy customer expectations,” he says.
When it comes to education, Narinder says learning is a never-ending process. He undertakes ongoing professional development and learning activities to keep himself up-to-date and polished on industry standards and changes, and encourages other brokers to do the same.
“In the mortgage broking industry each day is different, and every mortgage file is different, because of this we are always being challenged.
“If we are well informed and educated, then we can serve our clients in a better and more efficient way,” he commented.
Narinder also passes knowledge on to his clients to increase his connection with them.
“My profession also allows me to interact with variety of people each day and to assist them with their home finance needs. Whether I am helping the first home buyers or current home owners, I try to educate them as I walk them through the mortgage process.
“I provide them knowledge and keep them informed and educated so that they can make the best decision for themselves.
“It also gives me the opportunity to build long lasting relationship with my clients which helps me to further generate more business through client referrals,” says Narinder.
Giving back is something Narinder says brings him contentment, and through his business he sponsors cultural events and organisations in his community, for example Diwali mela events and the Brabham Cricket Club.
And, when Narinder sees the huge smiles on his clients’ faces when they become proud homeowners, he gets a sense of fulfilment, he says it’s just one of the things he enjoys about broking.
