Notice of the Annual General Meeting
The MIAA Annual General Meeting will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday 23 November 2006 at Quay Grand Hotel, 61 Macquarie St, East Circular Quay. Business of the meeting includes to receive and consider the accounts of the Association (view the annual report) to announce the election of Directors and to consider the proposed amendments to the constitution including the change of name to Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia.

MIAA Excellence Awards Now Open
The 2007 MIAA Excellence Awards are now open. The entry process is as follows…
1. Nominations: self-nominate, or be nominated by a peer or colleague
2. Entry Criteria: sent upon nomination
3. Entry Submissions: due at 5:00pm on 29 January 2007
4. Presentation: Friday 2 March 2007, Crown Towers, Melbourne

Voting for your MIAA 2006 State Council representatives is now open and will remain open until 5:00pm on 9 November 2006 (in VIC, NSW, Qld, SA and WA only). If you believe you are an eligible voting member but did not receive the email sent by EveryOne Counts on behalf of the MIAA with your individual voting PIN please email your full name and member number to pr@miaa.com.au.
Broker Laws - Queensland Regulation Review
While the reviewed WA Code is due to become operational early in the New Year, the media has started speculating about the prospects of ‘national regulation’. In particular an Australian Financial Review story on 27 October 2006 suggested the Queensland government might go it alone.
