CMC Status

Overview

The Certified Mortgage Consultant (CMC) designation is reserved for mortgage loan writing members of the MFAA who already have proven qualifications and expertise in their capacity as an Accredited Mortgage Consultant (AMC). An MFAA CMC is entitled to use the letters CMC as post nominals, and can display the MFAA CMC logo.

Once you have achieved accreditation, you must renew your membership annually to maintain it.

Requirements for CMC Status

  • Held AMC status for a minimum of two years, prior to the date of application for CMC status
  • Has at least four years appropriate experience in mortgage broking, mortgage lending or finance broking (including the period of AMC accreditation)
  • Has satisfied all AMC requirements during their membership
  • Has successfully completed the MFAA Standards & Operating Guidelines module
  • Has not been subject to any penalties involving a sanction of a higher grade than a censure imposed by the MFAA Tribunal in the two years prior to CMC application
  • Testimonials from two MFAA lender/funder members supporting your CMC application
  • Not currently bankrupt, or subject to control under the Bankruptcy ACT 1966
