MFAA Update: Industry News 10 October 2007
MFAA Assists Consumers with Hardship Issues
The MFAA Board has responded to concerns about the small minority of borrowers who are finding themselves in some difficulty in servicing their loans. An amendment has been made to the MFAA Code of Practice to set down protocols which members are to follow on being aware a borrower is or may be in financial difficulties.
MFAA Member Survey results
In a commitment to improving the service we offer to our members, last month we asked members what they thought of our Events and Education services in a online survey. Thanks to those who took the time to provide your feedback, it is invaluable and will be used to continually strive to improve the MFAA offerings.
MFAA Fights Predatory Lenders
MFAA for many months has been lobbying governments to mandate that all credit providors must be members of an ASIC approved external disputes resolution (EDR) scheme. This will minimize the impact of predatory lenders which typically avoid association membership or membership of external dispute resolution schemes which assist borrowers who have been preyed upon by these lenders.
MFAA Members can purchase the exceptional Chads Creek Estate Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2004 for only $6.53 per bottle (instead of $20.00). This wineexhibits rich, forest fruit flavours, delicately balanced acidity and a silky tannin finish. Slightly perfumed French oak complements subtle blackcurrant flavours and elegant floral notes. Great drinking now but will develop more complex flavours in the bottle.
